Our product certification services

As a designated and notified body, IWS is authorised to issue national technical assessments and to carry out conformity assessments and inspections in the following areas:

– Reinforcing steel and prestressed steel (and their ancillary materials) for concrete, post-tensioning systems
– Chimneys, flue pipes and specialist products
– Construction products in contact with water intended for human consumption
– Pipes, tanks and their components that do not come into contact with water intended for human consumption

What do we offer?

The IWS, by implementing a quality management system that complies with the requirements of MSZ EN ISO/IEC 17065, As a national technical assessment, product certification and factory production control body, it carries out conformity assessment tasks for construction products on the basis of designations under the following legislation:

REGULATION (EU) No 305/2011 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL (9 March 2011) laying down harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products and repealing Council Directive 89/106/EEC (CPR),
Government Decree No. 275/2013 (16 July 2013) on the detailed rules governing the design and incorporation of construction products into buildings, and the verification of their performance in the process.

The product certification services we provide

As a third party, IWS performs the following tasks:

carrying out technical assessments of construction products and issuing National Technical Assessments;
the assessment of the performance of a construction product on the basis of tests (including sampling), calculations, tabulated values or the product’s technical documentation;
a basic inspection of the manufacturing site and the in-house production control system;
the ongoing monitoring, inspection and evaluation of in-process quality control;
random testing of samples taken at the manufacturer’s premises or in the manufacturer’s storage facilities.
