Air qualityand periodic emission measurements are required by law. Our accredited environmental laboratory undertakes the measurement of emissions from point sources, as well as determining the impact area, preparing the permit application documentation, and completing the data sheets.
Where activities involving significant CO₂ emissions are carried out, it is necessary to havehave CO₂ emissions verified, which may only be carried out by an accredited body. IWS holds the expert licences required for verification, accreditation and experts who carry out the certification.
As awareness of our responsibility towards climate change grows, more and more people are taking an interest in the impact that certain activities, processes and products have on the climate. The concept of the carbon footprint was introduced to quantify this impact. The carbon footprint refers to the quantity of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, expressed in carbon dioxide, produced by the company, organisation or individual directly or indirectly generates through its activities or processes during the period under review, or through a product’s life cycle.
The companies with the highest energy consumption – not just large corporations – must employ an independent energy consultant. The energy specialist’s role is to prepare various reports and monitoring the implementation of energy efficiency measuresand assisting the company in fulfilling its obligations. The appointment of the energy specialist is mandatory from 21 December 2016.
