Duties of the Environmental Officer

With the sheer volume of environmental regulations, companies are finding it increasingly difficult to keep up. Complying with regulatory requirements places a heavy burden on companies, and in some cases, companies are not even clear about the full scope of the requirements applicable to them. Lack of knowledge of and non-compliance with environmental legislation can pose a potential risk to the operation of the business and may result in heavy fines. Our company’s highly experienced experts provide assistance, or even take full responsibility for carrying out the necessary tasks.

What do we offer?

Appointment of an environmental officer

In Hungary, two decrees regulate the conditions for the appointment of an environmental protection officer. Government Decree No. 93/1996 (VII. 4.) defines the uses of the environment subject to the conditions for the employment of an environmental officer, whilst Decree No. 11/1996 (4 July 1996) KTM sets out the conditions for the employment and qualification of environmental protection officers. The environmental user must have an employment contract or contractual relationship with the environmental protection officer.

Whereas in the past, environmental tasks within a company were usually carried out by an employee working in a different field alongside their main job, it is now increasingly common and essential to employ or appoint a qualified and experienced environmental specialist to carry out environmental protection tasks.
